AI Solutions Architect – Engineering Workflows
Lead the solution design for practical AI workflow systems used by EPC, infrastructure, and engineering teams. You will turn operational bottlenecks into deployable architectures that create measurable outcomes — not slideware or experiments.
Remote — Global Full-time Competitive — based on experience
About the role
Kresto Consulting helps EPC, infrastructure, and engineering companies replace manual workflow bottlenecks with practical AI systems. As an AI Solutions Architect, you will own the bridge between client operational reality and a robust, delivery-ready technical solution.
You will lead discovery with senior client stakeholders, translate reporting, document-control, coordination, and data-quality problems into clear technical designs, and partner with our engineers and implementation consultants through delivery. You will make sound trade-offs across integrations, data, security, human review, cost, and time-to-value.
This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who can be credible in both a project room and a technical design review. You will not be selling generic AI tools. You will design systems that work within the client environments they already use.
What you will do
- Lead discovery workshops and map current-state engineering and project workflows
- Convert business problems into clear AI solution architectures, implementation roadmaps, and measurable success criteria
- Define integration, data, security, human-in-the-loop, and governance requirements
- Develop solution proposals, scopes, and delivery estimates with commercial and technical rigor
- Partner with Automation Engineers to turn architectures into reliable production workflows
- Guide client stakeholders through technical decisions without unnecessary jargon
- Review delivery quality and identify reusable architecture patterns across engagements
- Create architecture documentation and handover materials for client teams
What we are looking for
- 6+ years in solutions architecture, technical consulting, enterprise automation, or comparable delivery roles
- Demonstrated experience designing production AI, automation, integration, or data solutions
- Strong understanding of LLM applications, retrieval systems, APIs, workflow automation, and enterprise data constraints
- Experience working with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, project systems, document platforms, CRM, or comparable enterprise tools
- Ability to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders
- Commercial judgment: able to distinguish a high-value use case from an interesting but low-impact experiment
- Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory
- Able to work independently across distributed client teams and time zones
Nice to have
- —Experience in EPC, construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based professional services
- —Hands-on software engineering or automation background
- —Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
- —Familiarity with Aconex, Procore, Primavera P6, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms
- —Prior consulting or professional services experience
